Woman carjacked, shot at in the heart of Buckhead in broad daylight, police say

ATLANTA — Atlanta police said a woman was carjacked and shot at on Peachtree Road in the heart of Buckhead Sunday morning.

Police said that around 8:30 a.m., a woman reported that she was stopped at the traffic light on West Paces Ferry Road when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up beside her. She told police that two Black men got out of the car and approached her and tried to get into her Nissan Sentra through the passenger door.

The victim sped away and the suspects started shooting at her. The victim got out of the car and ran to safety.

One of the men jumped in her car and the two men drove away in both cars.

The incident happened in the heart of downtown Buckhead near many popular bars and restaurants.

Police have not said if any of the businesses had surveillance cameras or had given a description of the suspects. The victim has not been identified.
