ATLANTA — A woman is dead after being struck by a car in downtown Atlanta on Friday morning, police said.
On Friday at around 6 a.m., a car was stopped at a red light on John Portman Boulevard. Once the light turned green, the driver turned left onto Ted Turner Drive, hitting the woman who was using the crosswalk.

At around 6 a.m., Atlanta police officers arrived at Ted Turner Drive and John Portman Boulevard, finding the woman dead.
The driver stayed on the scene after the accident occurred.

The identity of the driver and the woman who died has not been released.
Police are still investigating her death.
