ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating what caused a man to fall to his death from a high-rise window and who shot and stabbed a woman inside.
Police said they were called out to the building at 250 Piedmont Avenue NE shortly before 2:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene they found the man dead along the building below and a woman who had “sustained injuries consistent with being shot and stabbed.”
Police said the woman was rushed to a nearby hospital. Officers say preliminary information shows the man may have jumped from the window.
