ATLANTA — The title “World’s Busiest Airport” is something the folks at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport take very seriously. They’ve held that title for most of the past 20 or so years.
During the pandemic, they briefly relinquished the crown to the airport in Beijing, China. That’s no longer the case.

This past week, an international report disputed that claim and said that Dubai International Airport was the world’s busiest with Hartsfield-Jackson not making the Top-10 list. The report states that Dubai served roughly 3.5 million passengers in the month of December.
According to airport officials, Atlanta’s airport projected they would serve at least 3.7 million passengers during the same month. While the official count has not been finalized, the airport expects it to exceed expectations and to serve over 4 million passenger. That number according to the estimates, will include both domestic and international travel together.
The international report did mention at the very end that if you add in domestic travel, then Hartsfield-Jackson is still the title holder.
