Bald Eagle dies from gunshot wound in Georgia

BANKS COUNTY, Ga. — A Bald Eagle has died due to a gunshot wound.

According to the Georgia DNR Law Enforcement Division Facebook page, Cpl. Adam Loudermilk discovered the juvenile Bald Eagle on Wynn Lake Road Aug. 7.

A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

All migratory birds, which includes all raptors not just eagles, are protected by Federal Law.
