BARROW COUNTY, Ga. — The Barrow County Animal Shelter will close for a few days in January as crews work on renovations to the facility.
According to county officials, the animal shelter will be getting an expansion to its kennel area, so the site will be closed to the public from Jan. 6 to Jan. 10.
While work is underway, animal adoptions and intakes will still be available, but on an appointment-only basis, officials said.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time as we work to improve the shelter in order to provide more effective services to our four-legged citizens,” Jackie Fryman, Barrow County Animal Control Director, said in a statement. “Rest assured that during these important renovations, the highest level of care will continue to be given to the animals in our care.”
Normal operations are expected to start back up on Jan. 11.
