BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — At least two people are dead after a multivehicle accident on Interstate-75 south near mile marker 293 in Bartow County.

The investigation determined that three tractor-trailers, a box truck and a blue passenger car were all traveling south on I-75 when one of the tractor-trailers hit the back of another, causing the first to hit the second. One of the tractor-trailers burst into flames. Another spun into the middle lane, hitting the back of the box truck, which then plowed into the back of the passenger car.

The drivers of two of the tractor-trailers were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the third tractor-trailer was taken to a hospital. The other drivers sustained minor injuries.

None of the victims’ identities have been released.
The Georgia State Patrol reconstruction team is investigating the crash.
