27-car wreck closes all lanes of I-75N in Bartow County

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a nearly 30-car pileup in Bartow County Sunday evening.

It backed up traffic for more than five miles on Interstate 75 northbound near Exit 285.

Sunday afternoon, emergency medical technicians said 14 people were hurt in the crash, but there were no serious injuries.

Channel 2 Action News Twitter follower Danny Williams sent a photo that shows an ambulance and fire truck at the scene.

Hayden Robbins shared another picture of drivers who stepped out of their vehicles and were standing among the backed-up traffic.

“I coasted probably from 75 into here. I mean, I was out of gas. I was having to do my car like that where the pump would pick it up, you know?” Bohannon said.

EMTs say heavy rain caused the vehicles collided.
