BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. — Rescue crews have recovered the body of a 34-year-old man who drowned on Lake Allatoona in Bartow County Sunday.
The Bartow County Fire Chief said Sunday afternoon that crews were looking for the missing man at Flamingo Cove. The fire department and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources recovered the body after about two hours of searching.

That area of the lake is not accessible by road and is a popular meet-up spot for boaters.
The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members.
This is the first drowning in metro Atlanta reported during the Labor Day weekend.
