CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A Bartow County high school has canceled its football game scheduled for Friday night because of COVID-19 concerns.
The district said there was a report of a positive case at Woodland High School in Cartersville.
WHS was scheduled to play Chamblee High School for its homecoming football game Friday night.

In an email to Channel 2, a Bartow County district spokesperson said, “The football game was canceled at the discretion of the opposing team due to COVID-19 concerns. Due to privacy laws, specific information, such as the identity of those affected by COVID-19, cannot be released by the Bartow County School System.”
Homecoming festivities have been rescheduled for Oct. 23.
The school says all pre-sale ticket purchases will be refunded.
The current 7-day average positivity rate for coronavirus in Bartow County is 9.1%.
