ATLANTA — Severe storms left behind some damage in central and north Georgia Thursday before quickly moving to our south and east.
Officials in Meriwether County said numerous trees were down and at least four of them fell on homes after severe thunderstorms moved through Thursday afternoon.
Earlier Thursday, storms left behind damage in Floyd County.
A severe thunderstorm watch issed for Thursday afternoon was canceled for most of north Georgia after some storms rolled through in the early afternoon.
Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns said there is a possiblity for more storms Friday and an even greater chance Saturday.

Downed power lines in Meriwether County have blocked all lanes of Georgia 109 at Fire Tower Road. Several trees have also fallen, at least four on homes, according to emergency managers.
The severe thunderstorm watch has been cancled for most counties in the metro Atlanta area.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Morgan, Putnam, Hancock and Greene counties until 4:30 p.m.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brad Nitz said there are reports of trees down with a line of storms in Cedartown (Polk Co.). These storms will bring very heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and lightning through metro Atlanta over the next couple hours.
