Channel 2′s Chris Jose first reported about Henderson and his wife Chrisy in February when she was pushing hard for doctors to give Barry a then experimental drug for his treatment. At that time, he had been on a ventilator at Northside Hospital in Atlanta for over a month.
Chrisy said at that time she had not been able to see Barry since he had been at the hospital. Deputies said she was able to finally get to the room and was with him when he passed.
