“Kai was an excellent dog with an enviable reputation of success, who brought great pride to Sgt. Hanners, the K9 Unit, and the Sheriff’s Office. Like all law enforcement K9′s, he made innumerable contributions to our mission to protect the public, and he made the county a better place for countless citizens. Moreover, Kai was a loyal partner, friend, and member of Sgt. Hanner’s family and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office family,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
