Body found inside car belonging to Heard County mother who disappeared in July

HEARD COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities have found the car belonging to a Heard County woman who disappeared back in July.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed the Heard County Sheriff’s Office found Natalie Jones' car Tuesday night. A body was discovered inside the car but has not been identified.

An autopsy is pending, according to the GBI.

Jones, a 27-year-old mother of two sons, was last seen just after midnight on July 5 leaving a friends lake house in Jackson’s Gap, Alabama, just north of Opelika.

She was wearing a pink and white striped top and white shorts and was driving a 2002 pink Chevrolet Cavalier, GA Tag RVE6177. The sheriff’s office found the car in a wooded area in Heard County Tuesday night.

The family put up billboards and started a website to help find their missing loved one with a $10,000 reward offered.
