Body of Georgia father who disappeared during business trip had ‘no trauma,’ autopsy finds

BATON ROUGE, La. — An autopsy is providing new answers and raising new questions in the disappearance and death of a father from Walton County whose body was found Monday in Baton Rouge, La.

Nathan Millard vanished in February after traveling to Baton Rouge for a business trip.

Millard’s wife Amber told Channel 2 Action News her husband went to a college basketball game then a pub, but never made it back to his hotel.

The 42-year-old was last seen on Feb. 23 around 11:30 p.m. at Happy’s Irish Pub on Third Street in downtown Baton Rouge.

Surveillance images showed a stranger using Millard’s debit card, according to his wife. His phone was found a few blocks from the hotel.

Millard’s wife said she was praying for a miracle. Her hopes ended when investigators found his body wrapped in plastic and rolled up in a rug around 6 miles from where he was last seen.

Millard worked at Advanced Construction in Conyers. His coworkers told Channel 2 Action News they too had been holding on to hope for weeks.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office released preliminary autopsy results Tuesday that revealed no internal or external trauma to the body.

Final autopsy results are pending further studies including toxicology testing.

Police also spoke Tuesday afternoon saying they do not see evidence of foul play.
