ROME, Ga. — The Rome Braves will take the field under a new name next year, but they need your help to decide what it’ll be.
The Rome Professional Baseball Club announced on Friday that would be dropping their tomahawk and the Braves name for the 2024 season.

“Our mission is to give the Rome community a brand as unique and special as the area itself is,” officials said in a news release. “We want to create an identity that fans across the region can proudly claim and call their own.”
The Rome Braves have been the High-A minor league affiliate team for the Atlanta Braves since 2021, but have been affiliated with the Braves since 2003.

The Gwinnett Stripers, the Atlanta Braves Triple-A minor league affiliate, changed their name from the Gwinnett Braves in 2018.
The team took to social media to pass along some suggestions for the team’s new name, including:
- Rome Romans
- Rome Italys
- Rome When In Romes
- Rome and Michele’s High School Reunion
- Rome Roy
- Rome O’s and Juliets
- Rome Built in a Days
- Rome Remus
The public can fill out an online form to suggest a new name until August 18.
