Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson, USWNT forward Mallory Pugh engaged

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — It looks like Dansby Swanson isn’t the only one getting a ring this year.

The Braves shortstop proposed to his girlfriend and soccer star Mallory Pugh and she said yes! The couple announced their engagement on Instagram Thursday night.

Swanson and Pugh have been together since 2017. The two were introduced by former Braves teammate Jace Peterson, who is married to Pugh’s sister.

Pugh posted a closer look at the diamond on her Instagram account with a post captioned, “Forever with you.”

Swanson and Pugh are both world champions in their respective sports.

Swanson won the World Series with his hometown Braves in November, the team’s first title since 1995.

Pugh won the 2019 Women’s World Cup with the U.S. Women’s National Team and led the Chicago Red Stars to the NWSL Championship runner-up finish last month.
