PHILADELPHIA — The Braves put themselves back in the win column Tuesday night against the Phillies. Meanwhile, the team celebrated a new milestone for manager Brian Snitker.
Snitker earned his 500th career win as the Braves skipper with Atlanta’s 6-3 win on the road.
After the game, the Braves broadcast surprised Snitker with a special video recorded by his grandchildren.
Snitker and the Braves agreed in 2021 to a contract extension through 2023. The Braves announced in November they picked up the option for 2024.
Snitker has been with the Braves for 45 seasons, holding jobs at nearly every level of the organization before being appointed interim manager in May of 2016. He was appointed the permanent manager later that year. He was named 2018 Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writer’s Association of America.
