FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — Police have identified the seven people killed in a multivehicle accident on I-85 in Franklin County on Saturday.
According to authorities, Chris Years, 33, Ashley Years, 34, and Luna Years, 3, all of Paulding County, were killed while riding in a Ford Excursion SUV. Georgia State Patrol troopers said the SUV crossed the median on I-85 around 1:40 p.m. Saturday and ended up crashing into a Chevrolet van driving in the opposing lanes.
It caused a chain-reaction crash in the interstate’s southbound lanes, GSP said.

Three more people in the Excusion were taken to the hospital. One of those people is in critical condition.
All four people in the Chevrolet were killed. They have been identified as Alejandro Agis Perez, 53, Noe Gutierrez Cerna, 39, Oswaldo F. Hi Navarrete, 25, and Eugenio Santoyo Serna, 36, all of Hall County.
Cellphone video sent to Channel 2 Action News shows mangled vehicles scattered across the highway in the aftermath of the crash.
Drivers traveling in the area reported backups for hours.
GSP’s collision reconstruction team is investigating the wreck.
