CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Police in two counties are investigating whether an arrest Monday afternoon may be connected to the shooting of a Brinks security guard in Holly Springs.
The shooting happened at a health park in Cherokee County Monday morning. It was the second armored truck robbery and shooting in metro Atlanta in just a couple days.
Part of Wellstar Cherokee Health Park was blocked off by crime scene tape Monday morning.

Holly Springs police said officers were called to the location around 7:45 a.m. in reference to a person shot.
A patient at the hospital said he saw the injured security guard on the ground.
“I heard a woman who was registering me, screaming. The Brinks guard was laying on the entrance. There’s a little circular drive there and he was laying there on the drive,” Roger Heberer said. “I just hope he’s OK.”

The victim was taken to Kennestone Hospital and was listed as stable. Police say he is expected to make a full recovery.
“At this point he has been transported from this location to Kennestone Hospital in stable condition. At this time I don’t have further information due to it being an ongoing investigation,” a police spokesperson said.
NewsChopper 2 over the scene showed crime scene tape around the entrance to the medical facility with a Brinks truck parked. The trucks often carry money and other valuables.
Police say the shooter tried to get to the cash, there was a struggle and the robber shot the security guard and took off.
Monday afternoon, Powder Springs police arrested a man they say is connected to several armored truck robberies, but have not directly connected him to Monday morning’s shooting.
