ATLANTA — The coldest air of the season so fair is headed our way Monday night and tomorrow night.
It was so cold Monday night, emergency shelters opened int he city of Atlanta at the Atlanta Rescue Mission downtown and at the City of Refuge on Joseph E. Boone Boulevard.
Severe Weather Team 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said you can expect wind chill in the teens and 20s Tuesday morning with actual air temperature below freezing.
Severe Weather Team 2 is looking ahead to how long this will last and when we will get back to the 60s, on Channel 2 Action News This Morning starting at 4:30 a.m.
Even as we head toward noon Tuesday, temperatures will struggle to make it into the 40s.
It'll get even colder by Wednesday morning.
The next rain chance will come at the end of the week.
