CARROLLTON, Ga. — UPDATE: The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says Ellison has been found safe and his family has been notified.

Family members are desperate to find a former Navy man who left his home in Carrollton early Saturday morning and hasn’t been seen since.
Mascerlin Ellison, 23, left his home around 4:30 a.m. driving a grey Honda Accord.
Ellison was discharged from the Navy in March after suffering from mental health issues. He had been serving on the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan in Japan.

Ellison’s mother, Natasha McCoy, told Channel 2 Action News that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and was hearing voices.

Ellison graduated from Villa Rica High School and went directly into the military. He was living with roommates when he vanished.
“He’s very well respected,” McCoy said. “Everybody that knows him loves him. He’s very charismatic. Just a great kid.”
