Police say Tyler Ford, 23, was killed in his own apartment at the River Pointe Apartments.
It all happened around 4:30 p.m. in unit 504 Wednesday. Detectives say the victim's three roommates who were home at the time called 911 after hearing gunshots go off.
"They did hear a knock at the door. The victim did go to the door. They said after a few seconds they heard gunshots," Cpt. Chris Dobbs said.
Police say they rushed out of their rooms and found Ford lying in a pool of blood in the front doorway.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from the apartment complex.
People who knew Ford said they're having a difficult time trying to process why this happened to someone who they say was a great, fun-loving guy.
