Here are some things law enforcement officials want you to be aware of if you are contacted by a potential scammer:
- Law enforcement officials will never contact you to demand payment for any reason, including demanding Bitcoin or any other digital cryptocurrencies.
- Court summons is handled through official processes, not random phone calls or threats.
- If you receive a phone call demanding or threatening you with court summons, you should hang up immediately and report it to law enforcement.
