WATCH: Police capture fully-grown alligator found in Georgia family’s garage

DONALSONVILLE, Ga. — A Georgia police department jumped in to help a family that found a fully-grown alligator in their garage.

The Donalsonville Police department shared photos and videos of their efforts to trap and relocate the gator. The post has gotten more than 18,000 views and 100 shares on Facebook.

In the Facebook post, police said the gator was found lounging under the homeowner’s truck in a residential neighborhood. Donalsonville is in southwest Georgia near the Florida and Alabama borders.

Video shows an officer masterfully loop a rope around the gator’s neck. The gator is not pleased and thrashes around for a few tense moments before it finally calms down and officers are able to retrain its mouth.

“What are y’all going to do when all of them baby gators hatch out in the yard?” an officer jokes.

“Call y’all again,” the homeowner jokes back.

Chief Deputy Hank Bagwell, Investigator Kale King, Seminole County Code Enforcement Bill McClendon, along with a concerned citizen, helped capture the alligator.

Officials say the Department of Natural Resources will relocate the gator, which was removed safely and was not hurt in the process.
