Officers tried to stop the car but the suspects immediately drove away, leading officers on a chase.
The car crashed in the area of Briarcliff Road and Briarcliff Way.
“The suspects wrecked, they jumped out and as they jumped out of the vehicle, they started running,” Chamblee Police Capt. Chris Findley said. “They fired shots at our responding officer, and he was subsequently struck.”
The suspects ran away from the vehicle and shot at the officers. One of the officers was shot and taken to the hospital, where he was stable. His identity has not been released.

According to police, officers arrested one suspect near the scene.
Chamblee police, along with SWAT and other other law enforcement agencies searched for the other suspect, identified as Oscar Arreola, for nearly 12 hours before he was arrested Tuesday evening.
Channel 2′s Tom Regab was in the area Tuesday, where neighbors said the suspect’s violent confrontation with officers and the aftermath left them a little shaken.
Regan talked to neighbor Eric Bonder, who huddled with his wife and children in a saferoom when he heard gunfire break out.
“Heard a bunch of gun shots, don’t know how many,” Bonder said. “A very frightful night for me and my family.”
Bonder said officers later searched his property for Arreola.
“They had five or six people next door, they went into my house. They got a robot, went into the crawl space,” Bonder said. “They were trying to make sure he wasn’t there.”
