This season will be the 18th in the majors for the 41-year-old Morton, who the Braves drafted in 2002 MLB Draft.
Morton played for the Braves for one season in 2008 before he pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays.
Morton returned to the mound for Atlanta in 2021 and famously pitched on a broken leg in Game 1 of the 2021 World Series. Over the past four seasons with Atlanta, Morton compiled a 45-35 record and a 3.87 ERA.
