CHEROKEE COUNTY — A Cherokee County teenage girl was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a hit-and-run on Monday.
The 15-year-old was walking across the street when a box truck hit her. Deputies said the driver didn’t stop.

The crash occurred just before 3:15 p.m. on Bells Ferry Road just south of Hwy. 92 near the entrance to the Walden Pond apartment complex.
The Cherokee Sheriff’s Office released an image of the suspected vehicle, which appears to be a white Chevrolet or GMC box van.
Anyone who recognizes the van or has any information on the accident is asked to call investigators at 470-281-8032.
