7-year-old brain dead after collapsing on soccer field

Shortly into soccer practice, Aidan Heath was running drills when all of a sudden he fell over.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The family of a Cherokee County boy who collapsed at soccer practice tells Channel 2 Action News doctors have ruled he is brain dead.

Aidan Heath has been at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston since Sept. 8.

Aidan's family told Channel 2's Matt Johnson that the boy is not one to quit on anything - let alone the fight for his life.

Grandmother Peggy Moore said she watched Aidan have what appeared to be a seizure at the Cherokee outdoor family YMCA soccer fields in Woodstock.

“We turned him over and the coach started CPR and I started breathing for him,” Moore told Johnson.
