The Atlanta Police Department cooperated with Cherokee detectives during the investigation. The Department announced Monday they fired Delay.
Atlanta police released a statement saying Dely was initially suspended without pay. APD said the officer was not on official business when the incident occurred.
Dely had been with the department since 2015.
