CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The search is on for armed suspects who robbed a worker at a local car dealership.
The thieves drove away with three Jeeps.
This all went down before the Shottenkirk Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Canton even opened for business on Friday.
Channel 2's Audrey Washington learned the worker was gathering parts near the service area when three men approached. One, he believes, stayed in the car.
They demanded the keys from the worker.
"“He said, 'Where are the keys? Give me the keys,'" manager David Booth said.
Booth said one suspect wanted to kidnap the employee and take him to a second location, but the employee refused.
“They basically made him walk through the dealership looking for keys,” Booth said.
Canton police said the suspects then left the employee and took off in three black Jeep Grand Cherokees.
Police later found one of the Jeeps crashed on the side of the road in Woodstock after a brief pursuit.
“The Cherokee sheriff office was able to locate one of the cars going southbound on I-575 and it crashed,” said Canton police spokesperson Pacer Cordry.

Washington spoke with the general manager of the Shottenkirk dealership, who said he wants these guys caught.
“I’m pissed, to be honest with you,” Booth said. “This is a very safe community. Law enforcement did an excellent job, but I want to protect my employees and my customers.”
No one was hurt and the dealership is open.
Police are looking for the other two Jeep Grand Cherokees – one with Georgia tag RGP4223 and the other with a dealer tag.
There were no security cameras inside the parts department, so there’s no video of the robbery. Canton police is asking anyone with information about the suspects to please give them a call.
