CANTON, Ga. — A Marietta man is facing several charges after a car accident left one person dead and two others seriously injured.

The accident happened on March 18, at around 5:30 p.m. on I-575 northbound just south of the Riverstone Parkway northbound off-ramp.
When Canton officers arrived, they found a white Chevrolet Silverado truck on the northbound off-ramp and a blue Honda Accord in the right northbound lane, with both vehicles having extensive damage.
During the investigation, authorities learned the Chevrolet truck, driven by Kevin Phyfe, of Marietta, was traveling south on the northbound off-ramp when it hit the Honda, head-on.
Phyfe was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Honda, identified as Cabrera Sylvestre, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital shortly after the accident. Sylvestre is recovering at home.
The passenger, identified as Sebastian Alonzo Domingo, of Ellijay, was pronounced dead at the scene.

On April 21, Phyfe was arrested and released on bond the following day.
He’s charged with the following:
- Reckless driving
- Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Driving on the wrong side of the roadway
- Serious injury by vehicle
- Homicide by vehicle in the 1st degree
