Truck crash, fire shuts down northbound lanes of I-575

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — The northbound lanes of I-575 were closed for about 90 minutes Friday afternoon after a box truck crashed and caught fire.

It happened near Exit 16, Hickory Flat Highway.

Video and pics obtained by Channel 2 Action News show the truck engulfed in flames.

Cherokee County fire officials said the interstate fully reopened around 2:30 p.m.

We are working to see if anyone was injured in the crash.
