ATHENS,Ga. — Athens-Clarke County police are hoping that someone can help them identify a man they say robbed a bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police said just before 5 p.m. Wednesday they responded to the Wells Fargo Bank on the 1000 block of Gaines School Road after the robbery.
Investigators said cashiers told them a white male walked into the bank and handed over a note demanding money be put in a bag. They said after receiving an unknown amount of money, the man ran away.

Despite a search by K9 officers and drone teams, police said they could not find the man. They did provide a description of the suspect.
They said he’s a thin, white male, approximately 5-7 to 6-0 tall, weighing between 130 and 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, tapered khaki pants, a brown beanie cap, black sunglasses, a gray facemask and black latex gloves.
