ATHENS, Ga. — Saturday night’s game at the University of Georgia is getting a lot of buzz, and not because of their big win against Auburn.
Channel 2 Action News received many phone calls and emails from viewers after video showed a number of people in the stands without masks.
UGA’s social distancing policy is clear that masks are required to enter the stadium, so we contacted the university about the concerns from viewers.

According to the policy, once inside the stadium, masks are still required to walk within the stadium and when leaving a pod (a small group of people).
Josh Brooks with UGA Athletics told Channel 2 Action News that he believes most of the fans followed the school’s policies.
He also said moving forward there will be more emphasis on making sure fans stay in their assigned sections.
