CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A 28-year-old man was shot and killed outside a Clayton County high school Monday.
The shooting happened sometime around 5 p.m. Monday outside Riverdale High School. Channel 2′s Michael Seiden went to the high school as investigators examined the scene.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and school district police focused their attention on the school parking lot, where they found a man shot to death.

The shooting victim, identified as Eyton Lemar Edwards, was not a student or staff member. The school district is still in virtual learning.
Clayton County Schools sent the following statement to Channel 2:
“The offenders involved were locals that came on campus and were not enrolled in the school district. There were no staff or students involved or harmed in this incident.”
Police are still trying to determine what sparked the shooting. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
