JONESBORO, Ga. — On Friday there was a historic moment for a metro Atlanta city.
The first Black mayor in Jonesboro’s history was sworn in.
Channel 2 Action News was there at Jonesboro city hall.

Mayor Donya Sartor told Channel 2 Action News she is excited to make history and was grateful for the support.
“Its always important that when we make history that the glass ceilings break for everyone but now I’m ready to do the work for every citizen in Jonesboro,” she said.

The city has been around for 164 years and has never had a Black mayor until now.
