ATLANTA — An Atlanta native and Spelman alumna has been named the assistant general manager to the worlds busiest airport.
Jai Ferrell, who has been serving as the interim assistant GM at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport will now have the role permanently, officials said Wednesday. She is also the head of marketing.

Ferrell started the position on an interim position in January of this year.
“Jai is a powerhouse,” ATL General Manager John Selden said. “Her passion, charisma, professionalism, and originality are ideally suited for this leadership role.”

Ferrell lives in Castleberry Hill and has a bachelor’s degree from Spelman and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Her responsibilities include oversight of the Airport’s commercial development division, which is responsible for properties and airline affairs, concessions, parking, advertising, external real estate development, air service development and marketing and brand strategy.
As the head of marketing, she recently launched the “This is My Airport” and ATL Experience ambassador program with Hank Aaron, Sara Blakely, Dikembe Mutombo, Killer Mike, Ludacris and a host of Atlanta-tethered influencers.
“She finds creative thrill in syncing her experience in entertainment with opportunities in ATL,” officials said in a statement.
