CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — UPDATE Dec. 16, 2022:
We have an update on the story about the investigation into the search for an 11 year old who was missing earlier this week.
Her parents initially told us they believed a social media influencer was behind their daughter’s disappearance.
Police told Channel 2 Action News that they looked into their claims and cleared him, saying he had nothing to do with it. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The search is on for an 11-year-old girl who left her home. Police believe she’s with a man.
The parents of believe she and a 22-year-old man are headed to Texas.
They are now warning other parents about the dangers of children meeting adults on social media.
Her parents say R’Kayla packed a bag and left home on Monday, and they believe she is in danger. She deleted her social media accounts and isn’t answering the phone.
“Bring her back. We are asking you to bring her back because we are not going to stop,” parent Kenicia Moss said.
Police say R’Kayla was taken from her home without permission. Her parents say it was a 22-year-old man R’Kayla met on Instagram who took her.
“Parents, we encourage you. Check phones. Check internet. You never know,” Moss said.

R’Kayla’s parents say the man she is with has pictures of other minors on his social media.
Police say they got information the pair went to Macon and are now headed to Texas.
The parents want the public to keep an eye out for them.
“We ask that you guys pull cameras. If you have any contact, any videos -- anything will help,” Moss said.
R’Kayla’s mother has this message for her:
“R’Kayla, we love you. We love you girl. Come home,” Moss said.
Her parents have a picture of the man, and they are urging him to do the right thing and bring their daughter home. They say they won’t rest until R’Kayla is home safe and sound.
