Clayton County police officers come under fire responding to emergency call

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police said their officers came under fire after responding to a domestic call Wednesday morning.

A spokesperson for the police department said officers were called to the Park at Mount Zion at 701 Mount Zion Boulevard and when officers arrived, the suspect in the dispute flagged them down. When officers approached, police said the suspect began to immediately open fire at them.

Police told Channel 2 Action News that it “seems” the suspect was waiting for the officers.

Officers did not return fire, police said.
