CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — One person is dead after a crash involving five cars on Interstate 75 southbound near the Tara Blvd. exit.

Clayton County police said the incident happened around 5 a.m. on Sunday.
When they got to the crash, police located one car on its roof, another car had been on fire, and the other three cars involved had visible damages.
Police told Channel 2 Action News that one person was dead on the scene after being hit by an unknown car and knocked over the median wall landing in the emergency lane of I-75 northbound.

Another driver in the crash was also hit and knocked into the third lane. That driver was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
At this time, the name of the victims has not been released and the crash remains under investigation.
