Channel 2′s Tyisha Fernandes was in Clayton County, where she spoke to Garvin’s family. The said they called her phone for hours wondering where she was before they found out about her death on a GoFundMe account posted by the Pamphile family.
Her step-father, Marquel Taylor, said police couldn’t identify Garvin because all of her belongings caught on fire.
“Lexi was the Lovebug of the house,” Taylor said. “She was Mom #2 . (She was) the sweetest, nicest, most considerate person I ever met, but she was a firecracker too.”

Taylor said Garvin was an aspiring college student who was very close to her family. Family members said Garvin was Carl Pamphile’s girlfriend and that he was speeding at the time of the crash.
Marcia Frost, Garvin’s grandmother, said Alexia’s mother is so crushed she can’t speak.
“All of us individually, a piece of us has gone,” Frost said. “A piece of us has been taken, so quick, so soon.”
The family said they are struggling to figure out how they are going to bury Alexia.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t have life insurance for Lexi and it was a shock, and it has me and my family on the backfoot,” Taylor said. “So if anyone here’s this story and wants to donate or give, we’d appreciate it.”
Garvin’s niece, Selena Marmol, said Alexia took care of everyone she loved.
“She didn’t play about anybody she loved,” Marmol said. “She made sure everybody was OK.”
The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with funeral expenses.
