CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Clayton County family is mourning the loss of their loved one who they say was hit by several cars and killed last week.
They say 22-year-old Tyree Davis was the victim of a hit and run on Mt. Zion Road last Wednesday. Since then, they have been pleading for answers as to who is responsible for their loved one’s death.

“How could you run over a 6′3″ male with blonde dreads and nobody stops?” his mother Susethia Wilkerson asked.
Davis’ sister says she got a call that her brother, an aspiring actor and musician, had been taken to the hospital.
“That’s when we found out he had been in a car accident,” his sister Tyshae Davis told Channel 2′s Ashli Lincoln. “They tried to resuscitate him but his heart had stopped.”

His family says that they believe he was making his way to a bus stop, but was hit. Witnesses reportedly ran to help and saw several cars run over a portion of his body.
“You left him laying as if he was nothing, like didn’t nobody care about him, but we loved him, we loved him with all our heart. That was my baby,” Wilkerson said.
Within the last month, Clayton County police have been working to reduce speeding, even increasing patrols in an effort to address street racing.
They have also been awarded a $300,000 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to combat crashes, injuries and fatalities caused by impaired driving and speeding.
Latest data from the state shows there were 20 pedestrian related traffic fatalities in Clayton County in 2019, which is up from 14 reported in 2017.

Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the hit and run and have not released any details on possible suspects.
