CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A SWAT team surrounded a Forest Park house on Tuesday looking for a man officers said threatened to shoot up a Walmart.
He then allegedly started firing when federal agents tried to arrest him.
The incident shut down part of Interstate 75 in Clayton County.
U.S. Marshals said Timothy James O’Neil was wanted for allegedly making terroristic threats of shooting up a Walmart in Nebraska.
O’Neil ended up holed up in the Forest Park home. Police said he began firing at them when they went to arrest him, leading to a tense standoff.
Investigators told Channel 2's Tom Regan that they had no idea how much ammunition and firearms O'Neil had or how desperate he was, so they started evacuating neighbors.
“They came to my house. They told me they wouldn't let me get my baby’s diapers, they wouldn't let me go,” neighbor Jaime Ramirez said.

Police said O’Neil fired at least 10 rounds, but they didn't fire back.
SWAT officers used tear grenades to get O’Neil to finally surrender.
Investigators said O’Neil came to the home Monday night to stay with a friend or relative.
Those people had already left the house by the time the U.S. Marshals arrived.
Clayton County police shut down the southbound lanes of I-75 during the standoff because the house is near the expressway.
Late Tuesday, Marshals confirmed to Regan that they were waiting on a search warrant to look inside O’Neil’s car, which was parked behind the home.
Clayton County police said additional charges are pending against O’Neil.
