Man tries to burn mother’s house down in fight over meth money, police say

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Police arrested a man they say tried to burn his own mother’s house down after a dispute about drug money.

Clayton County police say Khanh Pham was high on methamphetamine when he came home Sept. 15 and asked his mom for money for more drugs.

Pham’s mother said no, prompting Pham to threaten to burn the house down. Police said he set a small fire and started a fight with his little brother.

Police arrested Pham and charged him with criminal damage to property, reckless conduct, terroristic threats and battery.

Pham bonded out of jail on Friday and was ordered to stay away from the home.

Pham instead returned to the home, started smoking methamphetamine and fell asleep. Police were called and Pham was taken back into custody.
