Man tries to plow through Clayton County roadblock, lands in jail on drug charges

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A man is in jail in Clayton County on drug charges after he tried to get away from a safety roadblock set up by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Victor Hill says the man, who has not been identified, tried to escape the roadblock on Sunday, but was unsuccessful. In trying to get away, the man ran his car into a sheriff’s patrol car.

Deputies confiscated a large amount of marijuana, as well as narcotics, cash and other drug paraphernalia, from the man’s car. He was subsequently arrested and is being held in the Clayton County Jail.

Sheriff Hill says that similar road blocks are set up daily to help keep the people of Clayton County safe.
