CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Riders had a terrifying experience when the MARTA bus they were on hit and killed a man in metro Atlanta.
It happened at the intersection of Garden Walk Boulevard and Highway 85 in Clayton County around 10 p.m. Monday.
A passenger told Channel 2 Action News what she saw just before getting off the bus.
“All of a sudden you see just a flash of this guy and the whole right windshield is just crushed in,” said passenger Kendra Crall.

Several passengers were onboard and got off looking for the man.
“I came around the back of the bus and I see like a chain wallet on the ground behind the bus, and I hear one girl crying. And she said, ‘He’s over here,’” Crall said.

Police said the man died from his injuries. Passengers said the MARTA driver was not speeding.
“The bus driver was not going that fast because this is where I stop,” Crall said.
There were no other injuries.
Passengers said the bus driver was very upset about the accident.
“The bus driver is devastated, and it was not his fault. Every one of us on the bus said the same thing, it was not his fault,” Crall said.
Investigators have yet to say if the man ran in front of bus or if they’ll charge the driver.
