Two new MARTA bus routes servicing Clayton County will start operating in mid-December.

Routes 192 and 194 will start operating Saturday, Dec. 12, according to MARTA. Both will run every 60 minutes every day of the week.

Route 192 will start the Justice Center, go north on Tara Blvd. and Old Dixie Rd and end at Forest Pkwy. and Central Ave.

Route 194 will also start at the Justice Center and pass the following locations:

  • Southlake Mall
  • Clayton State University
  • Fort Gillem
  • Conley Park
  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
  • Atlanta Medical Center (south campus)
  • East Point MARTA station

MARTA also introduced four new routes in second phase of MARTA's expansion earlier this year: bus routes 191, 193 and 195 and Route 800.

Clayton voters approved MARTA transit service in the county as part of a Nov. 4 referendum in 2014.

Clayton became the first new county to add MARTA since the agency began operating in DeKalb and Fulton in 1971.

Clayton's county-operated bus system, C-Tran, was dissolved in 2010 due to lack of funds.
