2 Clayton County schools starting year online due to number of staff members in quarantine

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Students will be back to school in Clayton County Monday, but two schools will have to kick the year off virtually.

North Clayton High School and Pointe South Middle School announced that a number of staff members are in quarantine due to exposure to COVID-19.

Students will learn remotely Monday through Wednesday. Parents are asked to check the school’s website regularly for updates.

“CCPS will continue to monitor the matter and make decisions in the best interest of all students and staff,” officials said in a statement to parents. “Thanks for your patience and understanding during these challenging times.”

School officials did not say how many staff members or teachers were in quarantine or how they were exposed.
