CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Incredible video shows police officers rescuing a man from a burning home in Clayton County.
The fire broke out early Monday morning at a home on Daniel Drive.
Neighbor Dominique Hardy said he knew he had to do something when he saw flames from the trailer next door.
“That’s when I started running down the trailer, beating, like, ‘Boom, boom, boom, is anyone in there?’” Hardy said.
At first, he didn’t hear anything.
“There was an air conditioner in the window, so I snatched the air conditioner and busted out the window,” he said.
That’s when he heard a faint voice.
“I’m shining my light in the window and I’m, like, ‘Oh, wow, he’s right there under a mattress,’” Hardy said.

Hardy immediately jumped through the window and tried to pull the man to safety,
“I grabbed his pants and his arm and pulled and got him to the area right by the window so there wasn’t as much smoke,” he said.
That’s when officers and another neighbor, Zachary Wilson, arrived. They all quickly jumped into action to help Hardy get the man to safety.
Wilson said the officers formed a human ladder to try to get the man out.
“One of the female officers laid down like a table and the others got on top and tried to get inside but fell and they were asking for a ladder,” Wilson said.
Wilson grabbed his and seconds later, they were able to lift the man through the window to safety.
“Everybody was working together. Everything worked out perfectly,” Hardy said.
Hardy suffered a burn on his arm and two police officers were injured but treated at the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he made a full recovery.
